Westfield High School hosted the Hamilton County Girls Track and Field Championships Tuesday night at Riverview Health Stadium, and the Shamrocks came away with a strong 4th place finish, with some eye popping performances. Westfield had two County champions in the meet. Lucy Hauser won the 300 hurdles and broke not only the school record, but broke a 23 year old county record with the victory. Then Princess Campbell won the 100, also breaking a school record as the only girl in Westfield history to break 12 in the dash. Then Hauser and Campbell teamed up with Abbi Van Bibber and Tobi Fapetu in the 4x100 relay to tie the school record in that event. Fapetu also scored in two other events, the 100 (4th) and the 200 (4th). Hauser also triple scored, taking 2nd in the 100 hurdles. Van Bibber also scored twice, finishing 4th in the 4x400 relay with Clara Cameron, Jordyn Landrum, and Lauren Linville. Other scoreres in the meet included Liz Smith in the 1600 (5th), Cameron in the 400 (8th), Madison Clary in the 100 hurdles (8th) and the 300 hurdles (6th), Emily Loiselle (6th) in the 3200 (6th), Ashlyn Bauer (4th) and Alexandra Hamilton (6th) in the pole vault, and Kayla Stone in the long jump (5th). The Shamrocks are back in action next Tuesday, May 16 at the IHSAA Hamilton Southeastern Sectional.
