Lady Rocks Advance to 2-0 With Win Over Pendleton Heights

The Varsity Lady Rocks came out of the gates fast on Saturday by putting up 25 points in the first quarter against the the Arabians of Pendleton Heights. The first quarter was capped off by a buzzer beating 3-pointer from Maren Dee. At the end of the first quarter the Lady Rocks led 25-6. The second quarter was a defensive battle that led to a halftime score of 35-13. The Rocks continued their strong play in the third quarter before the school experienced a loss of power. The game was called with just under 5 minutes remaining in the third quarter with the Rocks leading 45-20. The team shot 52% from the field in the game while holding the Arabians to 29%. The Rocks were led in scoring by Lindsey Van Dyke with 20 points. She was followed by Emmrey Collinsworth with 7 points and 4 rebounds. Kiki Loveless chipped in 4 points and 7 rebounds, while Ellie Kelleher contributed 4 points to go along with her 7 assists. The Rocks are back in action when they travel to Tri-West Tuesday night. JV tips at 6:00 with Varsity to follow.
