The Westfield Junior Varsity football team traveled to Zionsville High School and defeated the JV Eagles 21-7. The Rocks defense was in control all game and was led by player of the game Cam Echard. Echard anchored the defense and came away with an interception to stop a potential scoring drive. Landon Porter made the play of the day with an interception to stop the only momentum. Landon finished the day with two interceptions. The consistent play of the defensive line led by Ben Wiggins and Drew Wolfe played a big role in the victory. Preston Dirks sealed the game with a diving interception off a tipped ball! Special teams were Beau Braun and the return game. Keegan Krupp energized the special teams with a huge hit and tackle on Kick Off. Quinn Hampton continued his consistent long snapping to ensure great kicks on punt and PAT/FG The offense was led by quarterbacks Jackson Gilbert and Carsen Melvin. Both made big plays when needed! Jacksons huge run was key in keeping momentum and controlling the game. Joaquin Pizana was Mr. Consistency in leading an offensive line that controlled the line of scrimmage. The JV Rocks football team will be in action again next Saturday, September 3rd at home vs Nobelsville.
