The Rocks celebrated their first sectional championship in school history while winning their home opener on Tuesday evening 16-6 over the Kokomo Wildkats. They trailed 2-1 after Ava Kainrath hit a single scoring Makayla Watson, who went 4 for 5 on the evening, in the 4th inning. The Rocks really got it going in the fifth and sixth innings. They scored 5 runs in the fifth inning to tie the game 6-6 and then 10 runs in the sixth inning to end the game. Avery Banas had three hits on the evening while Ava Kainrath, Sydney Jordan and Grace Fanelli each had two hits. Sophie Easterhaus had one hit in the game but it was her first homerun on the season and a grand slam in the sixth inning. Chloe Tanner pitched 4 1/3 innings striking out 10. Shea Vohs and Sydney Jordan pitched a combined 1 2/3 innings to seal the win for the Rocks
