Last night, your Rocks hosted the Brownsburg Bulldogs and failed to achieve victory for the first time this season, falling 7-37. The loss drops the Rocks to 5-1 (3-1 HCC). This recap will be a short one, as it was all Bulldogs on Friday night. Brownsburg jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter, scoring on every drive. Westfield’s offense couldn’t get anything going, and the defense couldn’t sniff a stop. A long Bulldog field goal early in the second quarter kept things going for Brownsburg, and they added another score for good measure before the half, going in with a 30-0 lead to the break. Westfield came out in the second half determined to show more fight, but Brownsburg put up yet another score to start the third and triggered a running clock. With the end of the game accelerated, the Shamrock offense was able to grit out one scoring drive, where Jackson Gilbert found a wide-open Maximus Nosler for a scoring strike (Brody Boehm kick). Both teams made substitutions, and Brownsburg salted things away in short order, securing their 37-7 victory. Your Rocks will look to shake this one off and get back on track next week when they travel to Avon to face the Orioles. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
