JV Football Defeats Zionsville to Move to 2-1

The Shamrocks returned to the field and got back on track with a 21-7 win over the Zionsville Eagles to improve their record to 2-1 on the year. Consistent play from the defense, timely scores from the offense, and explosive plays by special teams pushed the Rocks to victory. Defensively, the Rocks were given contributions from many different players. They were led by Keagan Krupp who had an INT on the day. Ian Shalit led the defensive line with strong play which included a strip sack and fumble recovery. The Rocks D held the Eagles scoreless throughout the second half. Offensively, the Rocks had a slow start but turned up the intensity as the game progressed with 2 touchdown drives in the 4th quarter. Big catches were made by Broc Parker which set up scoring drives for the Rocks. Consistent play was given by Daniel Cox along the offensive line. The big play came when offensive linemen John Alberta recovered a fumble in the end zone for a Rocks touchdown. The special teams for the Rocks led the charge with explosive plays throughout the game. Keagan Krupp blocked a punt which was recovered by Riley Davison for a Shamrock TD. Cato June had a long, explosive punt return which put the Rocks in a position to capitalize on the great field position. Consistent play was given by Nick Fero throughout the morning. The JV Rocks travel to Noblesville to face the Millers on Saturday, September 9th at 10 AM.
