In the final race this season for the majority of the team, the boys cross country team ended on a very high note at the Brownsburg JV Invitational, finishing 3rd place. Of the 47 Shamrocks who raced, 31 ran lifetime PRs, while an additional 5 ran season bests. The boys were led by Caleb Haney's 4th place finish, who earned a massive PR in just his second race back from injury. He was closely followed by Graham Hoffman, JP Mikels, Donovan Ledford, and Luke Stevens. Hoffman, Mikels, and Stevens all joined Haney in the PR club. Jace Lee also broke the 17:00 barrier for the first time in his career in his last ever race. Corbin Hasler, Tyler O'Rourke, Brecken Snyder, Conner Phillips, Elan Zamora, Evan Hocker, Owen Sawa, Parker Johnson, Harry Graves, Dom Newell, Noah Niccum, Eli LaRosa, Zaden Glass, Chase Lambert, Graham Gibbs, Chris Christmas, Eli Hayes, Noah Lee, Andy Samreta, Evan Sawa, Jackson Rivard, Maddux Kettlebar, Reece Young, Willie Lye, Grant Zartman, and Colin Harrington all also earned PRs. Special congratulations to the following people for breaking time barriers for the first time: Phillips, Zamora, O. Sawa, and Johnson all broke 18:00 for the first time in their careers; Lambert and Gibbs both broke 19:00 for the first time; Hayes broke 20:00 for the first time; Evan Sawa and Kettlebar both broke 21:00; and Colin Harrington broke 23:00 AND 22:00 for the first time, jumping right to the 21:00 range. An even more special congratulations and thank you to all the seniors who competed this season. Caleb Haney, Graham Hoffman, Owen Dilley, Jace Lee, Taye Gutwein, Dom Newell, Eli LaRosa, Drew Taylor, and Parker Smoot will all leave this program in a better place than when they found it. Thanks to their efforts, the future of our team is as bright as it has ever been, and we will feel the positive impacts of their presence for years down the line. The boys are back in action at the Sectional meet at White River Elementary in Noblesville on Saturday, October 18, at 10:30 am.
