Westfield girls cross country concluded the regular season this past weekend competing in the Brownsburg Mini Invite. The Rocks came away with a 4th place team finish and many athletes racing to personal bests in their last meet of the season. The freshmen got things started on the right foot for the Rocks as Ella Lidskin and Sofia Grisel were the first two finishers for Westfield. Lidskin placed 4th running to a new PR of 19:27 and Grisel placed 14th also racing to a new career best of 20:06. Not far behind Grisel was Lyla Osborn placing 15th in a time of 20:07 also earning a career best performance. Rounding out the scoring for the Rocks were juniors Claudia Southworth and Sam Plummer placing 40th and 43rd respectively with Southworth's time of 20:56 a new personal best. Other standout performances on the day for Westfield included Haley Pitney running a one minute personal best in a time of 21:17 beating her time from the same course two weeks prior. Senior Ava Brandau went under 22:00 for the first time in her career to earn her varsity letter and run a new PR of 21:52. Another Senior, Kendra Duvall-Herman, continued her strong improvement by running under 23 minutes for the first time and has now gone over 3 minutes faster than her best time from 2024. Congratulations to all finishing out their seasons in outstanding fashion!
