JV Green Softball Defeats Mounties 15-4

Four hits from Emma Miller paved the way to victory for Westfield over Southmont 15-4 on Friday. Miller doubled in the second, singled in the third, singled in the fifth, and singled in the fifth again. The Shamrocks pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second an error scored one run for the Rocks, Miller doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, Brittany Dollens singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, and Julia Stormer drew a walk, scoring one run. Westfield scored seven runs in the fifth inning. The offense in the inning was led by Miller, Dollens, Brooklyn Switalski, Jordan Clark, and Miller, who each had RBIs in the inning. Kaylee Bowers earned the victory on the rubber for Westfield. Bowers lasted five innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out five. Westfield tallied 13 hits in the game. Miller, Clark, and Dollens all managed multiple hits. Miller went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead the team in hits.
