Lady Rocks Cross Country Competes at Wildcat Classic

The Westfield girls cross country team headed back to Indiana Wesleyan for the second weekend in a row, this time to compete in the Wildcat Classic, which featured many top teams in the state. The Rocks placed 10th in the varsity race and 3rd in the JV race and had many great individual performances on the day. In the varsity race, Ella Bozarth had a strong race and was the Rocks' first finisher, placing 35th in a time of 19:48 to grab the last medal spot in the field. Sam Foster placed 37th as Westfield's second finisher in a new season best of 19:53, running as the number 2 on the day for the Rocks. Remaining scorers for Westfield in the varsity race included Sam Plummer (52nd), Ella Lidskin (55th), and Lyla Osborn (58th). The junior varsity race saw 7 Rocks place in the top 25 of the race to aid the 3rd-place team finish. The race of the day came from Senior Delaney Curtis, who placed 8th overall with a finish time of 21:53, resulting in a new personal best and earning her varsity letter on the season by breaking the 22-minute barrier. Haley Pitney was Westfield's second finisher in the JV race, placing 13th in a personal best time of 22:23. The remaining scorers for the Rocks in the JV race included Norah Lahr (17th), Annalisa Schuth (18th), and Ava Brandau (20th). Other Westfield runners finishing in the top 25 were Lauren Zelik (21st) and Jade Keefer (23rd). Westfield will next compete in the Flashrock Invitational on Saturday, September 20th, as the Rocks host the meet at Northview Church in Carmel. Come out and support the team, and Go Rocks!
