Wednesday's game against Zionsville was a heartbreaker for Westfield, as they lost the lead late in a 12-8 defeat. Westfield lost despite out-hitting Zionsville 11 to six. The Shamrocks got on the board in the first inning. Emma Miller drove in two when Miller singled. Kaylee Bowers led things off in the pitcher's circle for Westfield. The lefty went four and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on four hits. Greenwalt threw one and one-third innings out of the bullpen. The Shamrocks racked up 11 hits. Bowers, Mahannah, and Miller each had multiple hits for the Rocks. Bowers went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Westfield in hits. The Rocks had some defensive highlights last night. Dylan Todd (RF) threw a rocket to Sarah Schramm (C) to throw the runner out at home. Vawn Horstman turned a double play at shortstop.
