Westfield nabbed the lead late in the game in an 11-6 victory over Western on Monday. The game was tied at six with the Shamrocks batting in the top of the seventh when Jordan Clark singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. Westfield was boosted by Brittany Dollens who went 5-for-5 at the plate. Dollens singled in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the fifth, doubled in the seventh, and singled in the seventh. Kaylee Bowers led things off on the rubber for Westfield. The pitcher lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out one. The Rocks had 14 hits in the game. Dollens, Clark, and Addison Greenwalt each managed multiple hits for Westfield. Dollens went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead the Rocks in hits. Defense played lights out. Jordan Clark (CF) and Dollens (C) teamed up to throw a runner out at home for a double play. Addison Greenwalt tracked down multiple hard hit fly balls in left field for outs. Lilly Amburgey played a tough shortstop and made great plays for her team all night. It was a great team win!
