The varsity boys cross country team took advantage of the conditions on Saturday, running one of their best team races in recent memory, with nearly each of the 12 varsity competitors earning a new PR. The team's total average time was one of the program's fastest over the last 5+ years. The boys were led by All-County performances by Bryce Pittman (11th place) and Nathan McKeever (17th). Pittman's career best time of 15:50 moved him into 11th all time in team history, and was his first time under the 16:00 barrier. The scoring was rounded out by Luke Moulder (28th), Carson Ackley (32nd), and Donovan Ledford (33rd). Ledford, Deagan Imel, Graham Hoffman, Chase Niccum, and JP Mikels all broke 17:00 for the first time in their careers, while Dexter Hoffman, Luke Stevens, and Max Lynaugh all set new PRs (Stevens by over a minute, and Lynaugh -- in his first official 5K -- ran one of the best freshman times in recent memory). The boys are back in action on Saturday at the Harrison Invitational at the Tippecanoe County Amphitheater in Lafayette.
