#22 Westfield hosted #1 Center Grove Monday Night at Shamrock Field. The Rocks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when senior Evan Russ hit a three run home run. After the Trojans scored five runs in two innings, the Rocks responded with three runs in the 4th and one in the 5th to take a 7-5 lead. After the Trojans scored one in the 6th, senior Jacob Culp came in the 7th and struck out the side to seal the Rocks victory. Seth Nanna was the winning pitcher, throwing 3.2 innings allowing one earned run on three hits and striking out four. Offensively, Evan Russ had a monster night going 2 for 4 with a double, home run and three RBI. Brayden Hibler was 1 for 3 with a triple and two RBI. Eli Manbeck was also 2 for 3 on the night. The Rocks (7-5 overall, 3-3 in HCC) will host Lawrence Central at Shamrock Field Tuesday night at 6p.
