Lady Rocks Cross Country Wins Varsity and JV Plainfield Relays

The Westfield Girls cross country team opened the 2025 season on Saturday and traveled to Swinford Park for the Plainfield Relays as the Rocks came away with team victories in both varsity and JV races. In the varsity race, the Rocks won the "hokum karem" relay style event for the 3rd year in a row continuing to show strong depth in the event by scoring 16 points and placing 4 pairs in the top 11 of the meet. Emma Pitney and Jordyn Landrum finished as the top pair for Westfield placing 4th overall in the event in a time of 36:02. The other 2 Rocks scoring pairs also placing in the top 10 were Jenna Burns and Sam Foster placing 5th, and Mackenna Condon and Ella Bozarth placing 7th. In the junior varsity race, the Rocks dominated the individual and team race by scoring a perfect score of 15 points that included sweeping the top 8 places and 11 of the top 12 places in the race. Sophomore Vivienne Lyon was the individual winner finishing the 2 mile race in a time of 13:06. Elle Meyers had a strong showing in her first high school cross country race placing 2nd in a time of 13:25. Other Westfield runners that placed in the top 10 included Lyla Osborn (3rd), Cameron Goodwin (4th), Claudia Southworth (5th), Delaney Curtis (6th), Haley Pitney (7th), Zoe Burgei (8th), and Annalisa Schuth (10th). Westfield opened the 2025 season with two dominating performances at the Plainfield Relays! The Rocks will compete next at the Hamilton County championships on Saturday August 30th in Noblesville.
