Girls Track Finishes in 2nd at NHS Invitational

The Westfield Girls Track team had many great performances on their way to a 2nd place finish at the Noblesville Invitational Wednesday evening. Powered by some outstanding performances on the track, the Shamrocks finished 11 points behind the defending state runner up. Sprints led the way for the girls with wins in the 100 by Princess Campbell, the 200 by Tobi Fapetu, the 100 and 300 hurdles by Lucy Hauser and a win in the 4x100 relay by Fapetu, Hauser, Campbell, and Abbi Van Bibber. The Shamrocks also gleaned 3rd in the 100 (Fapetu), 2nd in the 100 hurdles (Madison Clary), 3rd in the 400 (Brittany Brown) and Brown, Van Bibber, Kate Malin, and Clara Cameron were 2nd in the 4x400 relay. In field events, Gracie Czubik had a breakout performance, finishing 3rd in the long jump. Also scoring in the meet were Emily Loiselle (3rd) and Robyn Schemel (7th) in the 1600, Liz Smith (4th) in the 800, Cameron in the 400 (3rd), Jada Henson in the shot put (5th), Malin in the 200 (8th), Fapetu in the long jump (5th), Greysen Wheeler in the high jump (7th) Ashlyn Bauer in the pole vault (7th), and the 4x800 of Olivia Barnett, Gianna Ferreri, Lina Abriani, and Ava Britton Heitz (5th). Of special note were Tobi Fapetu triple scoring in the meet, and Jordyn Landrum running 2:32 in her first ever 800, just out of the scoring.
