The #8 Lady Rocks Varsity Lacrosse team lost in a thrilling game to #5 Cathedral 11-12 on Tuesday night. The Lady Rocks had a chance to tie the game with seconds left but were unable to connect on the shot. The defense was led by Jazmine in goal with 10 saves and 5 ground balls and Lucy Hemmerling 1 save along with defenders Ella Lowery (4 draw controls, 4 ground balls, 1 interception), Zoe Milewski (2 ground balls, 1 forced turnover), Liz Carney, Annie Hamilton, Addison Fisher and Marta Gonzalez. The attack goal scoring was led by Lauren Dean (6 goals, 1 assist, 4 ground balls and 2 interceptions), Molly O’Brien (2 goals, 1 assist, 2 ground balls and 1 forced turnover), Charley Kocsis (2 goals, 1 ground ball) and Kayla Reis (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 draw control and 2 forced turnovers). Ally Weirick had 2 assists and 1 ground ball and Kenzie Reis added 1 assist while collecting 2 ground balls Also contributing was Hannah Cavalcanti with 3 ground balls and Riley O’Brien with 1 interception. The team plays at # 1 Carmel Thursday night while averaging 11.3 goals, 6.9 assists, 11.4 draw controls, 22.4 ground balls, 8.6 forced turnovers and 2.8 interceptions per game.
