In the season-opening match for the JV girls volleyball team, your Rocks completed a 2-0 victory over perennial powerhouse Yorktown by scores of 25-22 & 25-22. It was a true team effort with the entire roster contributing to the victory. Avery Pekala anchored a dominant performance from our front line defense by leading the team in blocks, while co-captain Liv Bates solidified the back row with a team-leading 11 digs. Co-captain Maria Schmidt tied for the team lead in service aces and assists, while Eva Clevenger and Meredith Mears led the team with 5 kills each. The girls will travel to Pendleton on Thursday before returning to play at home on Saturday morning against Trinity Lutheran.
