Late game rally not enough to defeat The Brownsburg Bulldogs. The Westfield Shamrocks JVW's effort to come back from down five runs in the fifth inning came up just short, as they fell 5-4 to Brownsburg on Wednesday. The Shamrocks tallied four runs in the comeback. Luke Russell went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 1 rbi while Gavin Russ went 1 for 1 with a triple scoring 3 RBIs. Cory Wilhelm started the game for the Shamrocks and went 4 innings, allowing 2 hits, 2 runs, and 4 strikeouts. Colin Kern closed the game going 2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits with 2 strikeouts. Kovacs, Wilhelm, Russ and Phillip Jacobs each had 1 hit. Luke Russell lead the team with 2 hits for the day. Cato June lead the team with 2 stolen bases while Broc Parker and Russell each had 1 stolen base. The Shamrocks will have their chance at redemption on Thursday April 13th against The Bulldogs at home.
