Olivia Sampia was dominant in the circle, as the starter rang up 14 strikeouts in the Westfield JV Green victory over Avon on Tuesday. Sampia allowed nine hits and four runs over six and one-third innings while walking two. The Shamrocks built a 4-run lead in the sixth inning and then held off Avon. The Shamrocks got on the board in the first inning after Hayden Rice doubled, scoring one run. Westfield added two runs in the second inning. Rice singled down the left field line, making the score 3-0. Adelyn Kurth collected the save in the circle for the Shamrocks. Rice drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Shamrocks with three runs batted in. Rice went 2-for-3 on the day. Number nine hitter, Kennedy Stoecker, showed depth in the Westfield lineup, by leading the team with three hits in three at bats. The Westfield JV Green Shamrocks secured an undefeated record in conference this season with this win!
