Rocks Win Triangular Meet With Sheridan and Shelbyville

Westfield won a triangular meet versus Shelbyville and Sheridan. In the field events, Alex Wilson won the pole vault, clearing 13 feet, 3 inches. Robert Campbell won the high jump, clearing 6 feet. Campbell also won the long jump with a best mark of 19 feet, 11.75 inches. Tom Ewing won the discus with a throw of 139 feet, 9 inches; Ewing also won the shot put with a throw of 49 feet, 10 inches. The track events began with an epic, all-senior duel in the 4x800. The relay of William Cummings, Evan Shupe, Luke Sullivan, and Colin Lakomek got the victory over the other senior relay. Jack Huisden got another victory in the 110m hurdles, followed by a 100m dash win by Dylan Walker with an outstanding time of 11.09 seconds. The 1600 saw Westfield take the first four places: Landon Jones won, followed by Will Snedeker, Owen Ferreri, and Ty Conner. Taye Gutwein, Ty Ellis, and George Cummings had great races as well. The 4x100 relay of Cade Parker, Connor Seagrave, Gabe Aramboles, and Jayden Bernavil got the victory by almost three seconds. Mikeah Webster won the 400, in his first attempt at the event. In the 800, Jack Loiselle got the victory with a time of 2:04; he was closely followed by Anthony Sulewski, who finished just behind him in 2:05. Pierce Glodowski also ran an outstanding race. In the 200, Cade Parker got the win by more than half a second. The 3200 runners had a great day, led by Owen Mohler's victory over freshman Caleb Haney, who ran under 10:30 in his first ever 3200. Drew Lovelace, Ian Porter, and John Degan all had great races as well; Porter and Degan both broke 11:00 for the first time. Cole Herring and Eli LaRosa had great races as well. The 4x400 was hotly contested and saw several outstanding performances, including by Sam Hinds, Landon Jones, Will Snedeker, Colin Lakomek, and Dylan Walker, who ran his leg in under 49 seconds -- an outstanding effort, especially this early in the outdoor season. The Shamrocks are back in action against Zionsville on Tuesday, April 11th.
