Scott Lidskin is back to lead Girls Cross Country at Westfield

Scott Lidskin named as Head Girls Cross Country Coach at Westfield Westfield Athletics is proud to announce that Scott Lidskin is coming back to lead and be the head coach of the Westfield High School Girls Cross Country program. He is taking over for Whitney Bevins who stepped away to focus on other activities. Lidskin began his coaching career in 1996 at Westfield. In his twenty-three year career at Westfield, his teams earned four IHSAA state cross country championships, one state runner-up, and eleven top ten team finishes. He also guided three squads to top 20 finishes at the Nike Cross Country National competitions. Lidskin began his running career at Glenbrook South High School in Illinois. He placed runner-up in the Illinois state cross country finals his senior year. From there, Lidskin went on to Butler University and earned four MVP awards as Butler’s top runner in each of his cross country seasons. After graduation he earned a sponsorship from ASICS and ran professionally. Additionally, he has written a book about coaching titled, SISU: Lessons from the Cross Country Course. “We are excited to have Coach Lidskin back to lead our girls cross country program. He is a pillar for Westfield Athletics and embodies everything we value. His success as a coach is well documented and his leadership skills and character will mentor and foster growth in the next generation of runners at WHS. We are blessed to have Coach Lidskin back to lead the program where he accomplished so much success over his first stint of 23 years coaching.” Andy Tebbe, WHS Athletic Director Coach Lidskin is married to Kristin Lidskin and they have two daughters, Ella and Amelia. He is also an English teacher at WHS.
