The 12th ranked Rocks opened the 2023 season by hosting the North Central Panthers at Grand Park Monday evening. The Panthers and Rocks exchanged leads early before Westfield exploded for 8 runs in the second inning and never looked back en route to a 15-12 win. Westfield hammered out 14 hits with Matt Drozlek leading the way offensively, going 3 for 4 with two doubles and four RBI. Brayden Hibler was 2 for 4 with a triple, 3 RBI and a stolen base while Alex Rudolph was 2 for 2 with 3 RBI. Evan Russ was 2 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI and Ty Anderson was 2 for 5 as well with a double and RBI. Westfield will open up HCC play on Wednesday when they host Franklin Central at Grand Park at 6:00p.
