Boys Track and Field Competes at HCC Meet

Big performances were the story of the HCC Championships for the Westfield Boys Track team Thursday in Avon. Finishing 7th in the meet where 6 points separated 4-7th place, the Shamrocks nonetheless had some great results. The highlight for the Rocks was the HCC Champion 4x100 relay of Maison McCray, Caleb Terril, Cayden Gearhart, and Cato June, breaking their own school record for the 2nd time this week, with a time of 41.59, currently the 3rd fastest time in the state. Later in the evening, Caleb Terril scored 3rd in the 200 dash finals, running a time of 21.65 and breaking a 27 year old school record. Other great performances included a 2nd place finish from Alex Wilson in the pole vault, 3rds from Logan Tuck in the 110 hurdles, Robert Campbell in the high jum,p, and from the 4x400 of Maxim Poirier, Terril, Caleb Haney, and Will Snedeker. The Rocks also had 5th place finishes from Poirier in the 400 and June in the 100, a pair of 7ths from Snedeker, and an 8th place finish from Job Mavrick in the shot put. The boys are back in action next Thursday in the Hamilton County meet at Hamilton Southeastern High School.
