The Westfield Girls Track and Field team headed to Fishers High School to compete in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Championships against some of the states best and the Shamrocks showed up with some great performances. On the track, the 4x800 relay got us started strong as the team of Jordyn Landrum, Maggie Naas, Alivia Lozier, and Mackenna Condon placed 3rd in a team time of 9:35 lead by Landrum's PR opening leg of 2:17.8 seconds. In the 200, both Westfield sprinters came away with PR times as Juniors Ella Jenkins and Josie Vondersaar raced to times of 26.85 and 27.85 respectively. Makena Schwerin stacked together a great day on the track as she placed 8th in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles which included a PR performance in the 100 hurdle trials in a time of 17.55. The strong meet for our hurdlers continued when Katelyn Eblen raced to a time of 48.61 in the 300 hurdles to place 3rd and hit a mark good enough for the 4th best time in school history. The 4x400 relay team of Maggie Naas, LeAsia Warren, Jordyn Landrum and LeBraya Warren finished off the night strong for the Rocks by placing 3rd as a team in the relay in a great time of 4:00.18. Our lone conference champion on the night came from the 3200 as Alivia Lozier lead wire to wire to win her first individual conference championship finishing in a time of 10:55.16 to also lower her own outdoor school record. The Rocks had a lot of success in the field as well, starting with Gracie Czubik's fantastic double placing second in the long jump just a half inch off of the win, and also placed 3rd in high jump with a 5'2" leap. The pole vault crew continued their strong season as Alex Hamilton and Ella Jenkins placed 2nd and 3rd respectively to earn great team points in the standings. Westfield had a great night against some of the best competition in the state Tuesday night. The Rocks will next compete in the Hamilton County meet on Tuesday May 13th in our final home meet of the season. Come out and support the team as we wrap up the regular season. Let's Go Rocks!
