Lady Rocks Finish 6th at Zionsville Invitational

Westfield Track and Field competed at the Zionsville Invite on Friday night in a very competitive meet against some of the state's best teams and individuals. Many Shamrock athletes came away with high places and strong performances on the night! The 4x800 relay team of Sam Foster, Zoe Burgei, Carly Davis and Ella Bozarth got the night started in the running events placing 4th in the relay with a team time of 9:59.40. The 1600 meter run saw both Shamrock competitors come away with massive PRs. First, Alivia Lozier placed 7th overall and raced to a time of and NEW PR of 5:06.03 seconds, then Mackenna Condon came away with a 12 second PR by earning a time of 5:16.24 placing 14th. The 4x100 relay team of LeBraya Warren, Ella Jenkins, Josie Vondersaar, and Gracie Czubik raced to a time of 50.02 which is a new season best for the 4x100 team. In the 3200 meter run, Gianna Ferreri came away with a stellar performance by earning a 20 second PR racing to a time of 11:39 to also place 5th in the field. The Rocks had a solid day in the field events as well as Jolie Miller earned a new PR in the high jump placing 7th with a leap of 5'0". Ella Jenkins placed 3rd in the pole vault after matching her best with a vault of 11'0". The lone event winner for the Shamrocks on the evening was Alex Hamilton after winning the pole vault matching her personal best with a mark of 11'6" to take the victory. Overall, Westfield had a great evening scoring in many events and placing 6th overall in the team standings. The Shamrocks will compete next in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference championships on Tuesday at Fishers. Go Rocks!
