Knotts Walk-Off Seals The Deal In Westfield JVW Rocks Victory Over Noblesville It came down to the wire on Thursday, as Westfield JVW Rocks grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 13-12, over Noblesville. The game was tied at 12 in the bottom of the eighth when Colton Knotts singled, scoring one run. Noblesville got on the board early in the game and was up 7-0 by the third inning. Westfield JVW Rocks scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning. An error scored one run, an error scored one run, Will Siurek drew a walk, scoring one run, Connor Smith was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Knotts grounded out, scoring one run. The Rocks were down 12-5 going into the bottom of the 7th inning. 3 outs would have ended the game but the resilience of this team was unmatched. After Beau Kurtz and Siurek walked, Connor Smith doubled scoring them both and jump started a rally. The Rocks put up 7 runs in the bottom of the seventh and tied the game thanks to a double by Smith, a double by Barrett Fuller, a fielder's choice by Colt Brady, and a double by Will Marciniec. The game went into extra innings and James Knight came in and shut Noblesville down 1,2,3. In the bottom of the 8th, Siurek walked, Smith singled, and Sullivan Meehan walked. With bases loaded Colton Knotts stepped up to the plate and hit a line drive over the right fielder scoring Siurek for the walk off victory 13-12. James Knight earned the win for Westfield JVW Rocks. The reliever gave up zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking none. Ben Vollmer pitched three innings in relief for Westfield JVW Rocks. The reliever gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) while, striking out five and walking two. Owen Watts started on the mound for Westfield JVW Rocks. The pitcher allowed one hit and five runs (three earned) over one inning, striking out two and walking four. Westfield JVW Rocks piled up nine hits in the game. Marciniec drove the middle of the lineup, leading Westfield JVW Rocks with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Smith, Marciniec, and Knotts each collected two hits for Westfield JVW Rocks. Siurek paced Westfield JVW Rocks with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Westfield JVW Rocks turned one double play in the game. Westfield JVW Rocks welcome Kokomo on Saturday for their next game.
