The 7th-ranked Rocks traveled to Brownsburg last night to open a Hoosier Crossroads Conference Series with the Bulldogs. Westfield jumped out to a 6-0 lead early, scoring three runs in each of the first two innings. Brownsburg answered back and tied the game in the fourth inning. The Rocks responded by scoring one in the 5th, one in the 6th, and two in the 7th on their way to a 10-7 victory. Jackson Blevins started for Westfield and pitched 3.2 innings, allowing four earned runs while striking out two. James Kovacs relieved Blevins in the 4th and held the Bulldogs in check, pitching 3.1 innings while allowing just 4 hits, one unearned run, and striking out five to earn his second win on the season. Offensively, the Rocks were led by Anthony Cimini and Beck Jordan's monster day. Cimini was 4 for 4 with two doubles and two RBI, while Jordan was 3 for 5 with two doubles and four RBI. Lincoln Hoffman added a double and an RBI on the night. Ian Wilson was 1 for 4 with three RBI as well. The Rocks will look for the HCC sweep tonight when they host the Bulldogs to close out the series. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Shamrock Field.
