JV Green Softball Defeats Cougars

Sarah Blake Miller collected three hits in four at bats, and Westfield JV Green defeated Greenfield Central 16-0 on Wednesday. Miller hit a solo home run to left field in the fifth inning, doubled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning. Kaylee Graff started in the circle for the Shamrocks. Graff struck out 11 batters on the day. The starter gave up one hit and zero runs over five innings while walking two. The Shamrocks got on the board in the top of the first inning after Ali Kainrath grounded out, Ava Weiderhaft singled down the right field line, Miller doubled down the left field line, and Kennedy Stoecker tripled down the right field line, each scoring one run. The Shamrocks scored seven runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. Graff singled, scoring two runs, Kainrath singled, scoring two runs, Alivia Warren drew a walk, scoring one run, and a wild pitch scored one run. Miller added to the score in the fifth inning with a solo home run to left field. Westfield tallied 13 hits in the game. Kainrath and Miller each drove in three runs. Olivia Sampia and Graff each collected multiple hits for the Shamrocks. The Shamrocks did not commit a single error.
