Sydney Jordan’s Big Day Propels The Rocks Past Franklin Central Sydney Jordan collected three hits in four at bats, as the Rocks Softball Varsoty team defeated Franklin Central 10-1 on Tuesday. Jordan hit a home run to left field in the third inning, doubled in the sixth inning, and doubled in the seventh inning. A single by Ava Kainrath put the Rocks on the board in the top of the first. The team added one run in the second after Makayla Watson grounded out in the second inning. Chloe Tanner earned the win, she allowed five hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking none. Jordan tossed three innings of shutout ball for the Rocks in relief. The reliever gave up two hits, striking out two and walking none. The Rocks tallied 11 hits in the game. Sofia Easterhaus, Tanner, Kainrath, and Jordan each drove in two runs for Westfield Varsity. Watson collected two hits for Westfield Varsity in five at bats. Easterhaus led Westfield Varsity with two walks. Next up for the Varsity Rocks is a game at Pendleton Heights on Thursday.
