Westfield hosted Hamilton Southeastern in our first home meet of the season on Tuesday. The Royals defeated the Shamrocks 80-52, however the Rocks still had many great performances and event winners on the night. Westfield came away with 6 event winners. On the track, LeBraya Warren got us started winning the 100 meter dash in a time of 13.02 to take first. Jordyn Landrum continued the winning ways in the 1600 meter run as she crossed the line in a new personal best time for the distance in 5:30.28. Then the 4x100 meter relay team of Claire Weddige, Ella Jenkins, Presley Perkins and Josie Vondersaar took first place in a time of 53.03. In the field events, the Rocks also had 3 event winners as Gracie Czubik came away victorious in both the high jump and long jump. Czubik won the high jump with a mark of 5'0" and won the long jump with a leap of 16'7". Alex Hamilton finished the night off with a victory in the pole vault matching her personal best of 11'6" to win the event. Other standout performances on the night for the Rocks included Morgan Guerrieri hitting over 16' in the long jump for the first time this season. Senior Paige Lemieux also matched her career best in the pole vault at 10'6". Claudia Southworth got a 7 second PR and hit the varsity lettering standard in the 3200 racing to a time of 12:28.08 to place second. A cold night still saw some great performances from the Rocks throughout the whole lineup. Westfield will head to spring break next week and then will be back in action on April 16th at home vs Zionsville. Go Rocks!
