The boys track team traveled to the Farm Bureau Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Wednesday evening to compete in the HCC Indoor Championships, and walked away with 2 HCC Championships, HCC records, and a fine 4th place finish. The highlights of the evening bookended the relay portion of the meet. First, the 4x800 relay team of Luke Moulder, Maxim Poirier, Caleb Haney, and Will Snedeker ran a blistering 7:55.27, which was not only good for the HCC championship, but also broke the HCC record for the event as well. At the other end of the meet, Poirier, Haney, and Snedeker teamed up with Caleb Terril to run an amazing 3:21.04 in the 4x400 relay. The was good for the HCC Championship, the HCC record, and shattered the WHS school record by more than 6 seconds. Those times are currently #1 and #3 in the state respectively. In the middle of that excitement, the 4x200 of Terril, Maison McCray, Cato June, and Cayden Gearhart ran an outstanding effort which improved on their time from last weekend, and put them solidly in the field for the Indoor State Championships as well. Other scorers for the Shamrocks included Robert Campbell's 3rd place finish in the high jump, and Logan Tuck's 4th in the hurdles, as well as Ty Conner's 5th in the 3200. Also with a great performance was the distance medley relay of Carson Ackley, Braeden Dewes, Conner, and Nathan McKeever.
