It was a quick turnaround for Westfield Track and Field as they were back at Indiana Wesleyan University for another HSR Qualifier with more athletes attempting to get qualifying marks for the HSR finals later this month in Indianapolis. The day started off strong with a trio of Shamrocks in the 3200. Gianna Ferreri (12:10), Ella Bozarth (12:21) and Carly Davis (12:23) all hit the varsity lettering standard racing under 12:30 in their first meet of the season. LeBraya Warren was able to place 12th in the 60 meter dash in a time of 8.16. Reese Reagan (8.47) and Sophie Croft (8.63) were also able to race under 9 seconds in the dash. In the relays, Westfield had many high placing squads starting with the 4x800 meter team placing 4th. The 4x200 relay team placed 8th in a time of 1:51.93 and the 4x400 relay squad placed 4th in 4:13.81. The highest placing relay on the day for the Rocks was the Distance Medley Relay team of Mackenna Condon, LeBraya Warren, Sam Foster, and Alivia Lozier that placed 3rd in 12:41.55, good for the 6th best time in the HSR large school qualifying current rankings. Finally, in the field events, Gracie Czubik placed 4th in the long jump with a 15'10.5" mark and the pole vault saw multiple Rocks finish in the top 6 as Paige Lemieux (10'0") placed 4th, and Alex Hamilton (9'6") placed 6th. It was a great opening weekend of the 2025 Track and Field season for the Rocks at Indiana Wesleyan! Westfield will be back in action next Saturday as we head to IWU again for a third HSR qualifier meet. Go Rocks!
