The Freshman Rocks won a nailbiter Thursday night at home against Fishers, 50-48. The game was close throughout as the Rocks were down 1 at the half. A 7 point 3rd quarter by Codey Gearhart combined with two big 3's by Max Vandegriff and Cooper Melvin had the Rocks up 3 going into the 4th. Some spotty free throw shooting kept Fishers in the game, but in the end, the Cooper Melvin steal and layup to put the boys up 50-48 ended up being the game winner. The Rocks also got a gutsy performance from Ashton Reid with 7 points and a handful of rebounds while playing with a broken thumb. The Rocks conclude their regular season on Saturday against Mooresville.
