Rocks go 4-1 at Paul Loggan Memorial Invitational

The WHS wrestlers had a great showing at the North Central Invite going 4-1 as a team and placing 2nd. The Rocks came out on fire with a 53-15 win over Ben Davis. The followed that performance up with two more 50+ point duals with a win over Rushville 67-12 and then a win over North Central 54-24. Round 4 the Rocks got out to a slow start but found a win over sectional foe Lebanon 36-24. The championship round was a constant back and forth with 4 different lead changes against #20 HSE. With the dual coming down to the last match, the rocks were not able to hold on and eventually fell to the royals 33-42. The Rocks were lead by Seniors Eli Frei and Jonathan Tanner, along with Sophomores Porter Temples and Jake Saez. Eli Frei collected 5 consecutive falls on the day to finish 5-0. Jonathan Tanner was also 5-0 with 4 straight pins to finish the day 5-0. Porter Temples finished the day with 3 falls and a 5-0 record as well. Jake Saez had another great day finishing 5-0 with 2 falls. Sophomore Hunter Jones had his best performance of the year. Hunter started the day with 4 straight wins in a tough weight class to finish the day 4-1. Come out and cheer on your Rocks this Wednesday at 6:30 for SENIOR NIGHT!! The Rocks will take on their rival #5 Carmel Greyhounds.
