The JV Lady Rocks faced off against a tough Avon team Tuesday night. Freshman MaKayla Hatcher got the Rocks going early getting to the rim and scorning 5 of her game high 12 in the first. The Orioles responded by hitting two big threes and took a 1 point lead after one. The Rocks defense picked up in the second holding Avon to just two field goals. The Rocks took advantage of their speed and pushed the ball which led to easy buckets in transition. Sam Price and Layla Six each had 4 points in the quarter and then Rocks took a 19- 14 lead into the half. Hatcher came out of the break aggressive and scored 7 points for the Rocks, and they cruised to the 38-29 victory. Hatcher led all scorers with 12 points. Sam Price finished with a double double scoring 10 points and grabbing 14 rebounds she also had 5 blocks on the night. Arri Cooke-Dennis was a spark off the bench with 5 points. The Rocks are back in action when they travel to Noblesville on Saturday. JV tips at 12:00 with Varsity to follow.
