The Varsity Rocks picked up another win on Saturday night when the Golden Eagles of Guerin Catholic came to town. The first half was played very tight with the lead trading back and forth, and each team playing well. The Rocks had a had a 25 - 18 lead with just a couple of minutes to go in the first half, but the Golden Eagles hit two quick three's and a buzzer beating layup to finish the half on an 8-0 run, and take a one-point lead into half. The third quarter belonged to the Rocks, who came out of the half with great energy, and outscored Guerin by 9. The fourth quarter was more of the same, and the Rocks stretched their lead to 16 by the end. Alex Romack and Trey Buchanan led the team with 17 and 16 points respectively. Charles Farrell added 11 points to go along with a fantastic defensive game. Sam Bishop also had an excellent defensive game. Seth LaRavia chipped in 8 points and a number of big rebounds in the second half.
