The boys cross country team finished 6th place at the Shelbyville Regional, missing qualification for the State meet by just one place. Ty Conner earned an individual berth in the State meet with his 29th place finish. Conner is the first State meet qualifier in three years, and will represent the Shamrocks on Saturday, November 2nd at Terre Haute's famous LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course. The other competitors were Will Snedeker, Owen Mohler, Owen Dilley, Nathan McKeever, Caleb Haney, and Luke Moulder. Dilley, McKeever, and Haney ran very strong races -- Haney earned a PR and Dilley just missed one. Each of those three competitors improved upon their projected place in the meet. It was a terrific year for the Shamrocks, who started the season ranked in the mid 40s, but climbed all the way into the top 20 at the end of the season, due to stellar efforts by all members of the team. The culture has been redefined, and the future is bright for Westfield cross country.
