The Westfield Shamrocks are headed back to the State Meet after a solid team race at the IHSAA Regionals. It was another great day to be a Shamrock! The Westfield girls cross country team showed up to the Blue River Cross Country course in Shelbyville with a trip to the State Meet on the line and the Rocks delivered. Westfield placed 4th overall in the Regional meet behind tough competition and were able to hold off a strong push from other contending teams. Alivia Lozier once again led the way for the Rocks placing 4th overall in the race in a time of 18:10 to earn All-Regional honors. The next two scorers for Westfield were Mackenna Condon in 33rd and Gianna Ferreri in 34th who ran strong races together to help bolster the Rocks scoring effort. Remaining scorers for Westfield were Carly Davis and Emily Loiselle who placed 45th and 54th respectively to close out the scoring. Other competing members for the Rocks included Jordyn Landrum and Sam Foster. The Rocks will take the final step of the season next weekend and compete for the final time as a team in the IHSAA State Finals. The meet will take place in Terre Haute at the famed LaVern Gibson cross country course on November 2nd. Go Rocks!
