The boys cross country team advanced to the Regional meet next weekend, giving their best performance of the year in the process. The team was led by a trio of All-Sectional performances by Ty Conner, Will Snedeker, and Owen Mohler. Conner finished 5th overall and shattered the 16:00 barrier for the first time with a time of 15:39. His performance is the 7th fastest in team history and was a PR by nearly 45 seconds. Snedeker finished 14th place and also broke 16:00, for the second time in his career. This marks the first time that multiple Westfield runners broke 16:00 in the same race in nearly a decade. Mohler's 18th place finish in a time of 16:08 earned him a new PR as well. Luke Moulder was Westfield's fourth finisher in 25th place, which also earned him a new PR, and Nathan McKeever rounded out the scorers with another spectacular performance. Owen Dilley and Caleb Haney were the final two competitors, both of whom were within a second of earning a PR as well. The boys continue in the postseason at the Shelbyville Regional on Saturday, October 26 at Blue River CC Course. The race begins at 11:15 am.
