The Westfield Shamrocks JV football team continued their winning ways with a 23-6 win over the visiting Fishers Tigers. This is the JV Rocks 6th win in a row and pushes their record to 6-1 overall and 6-0 in conference play. Stingy defense, a physical offense, and consistent special teams play help the Rocks get the win. Defensively, the Rocks were led by player of the game Zane Newman. Newman made multiple plays along the line of scrimmage to control that aspect of the game. Consistent play was given by the whole defensive line as they limited the Tiger rushing attack all morning. The big play came when Aceson Hutcherson picked off a Tiger pass and gave the ball back to the Rock O. Offensively the Rocks QB Aiden Grabowski earned player of the game honors. Grabowski was both efficient and explosive in both the running and passing game. Consistent play was given along the offensive line to guard Allen Pierce as well as tight end Baylor Conner. They both helped pave the way for an efficient Rocks rushing attack and Conner provided some plays receiving as well. Big plays of the game came on multiple 3rd down conversions from Grabowski to receiver Kaleb Darts. On Special Teams the player of the game goes to kicker Diego Herrera. Diego was consistent all morning on his kicks and also converted a much needed field goal. Consistent play was given by the whole punt block team as they helped give the Rocks good field position throughout the morning. The big play came on a long kick return into Tiger territory by Caleb Terrill. The Rocks travel to Franklin Central for a 9 Am kickoff on Saturday, October 19 to take on the Flashes in their last game of the season and a chance to win the HCC title outright.
