In the final meet of the regular season, before the postseason tournament gets underway, Westfield girls cross country showed up to the Brownsburg Invite, and showed out with a full day of amazing performances! The Westfield Shamrocks came away as team champions on the day with 28 points dominating the field staying 30 points clear of second place Columbus North who scored 58 points. The Rocks incredible depth showed up again by placing all 5 scoring runners in the top 10 of the race and placing 10 runners in the top 25. Emily Loiselle led the way for the Rocks placing 2nd in a season best time of 19:43. Jordyn Landrum was Westfield's 2nd finisher placing 3rd overall in NEW PR of 19:47. Remaining scorers for the Rocks who all finished in the top 10 include Lina Abriani, Vivienne Lyon, and Maryn Babb. There were so many fantastic individual performances on the day as well for the Rocks resulting in new personal bests and huge milestones crossed. Congratulations to Charlotte Isaacs and Lyla Osborn for going under 21 minutes for the first time in their careers. Maddie Samreta and Zoe Burgei earned their varsity letters by running under 22 minutes. Additional significant PRs were ran by Jill Ewing, Ava Brandau, Kiernan Harrington, Annalisa Schuth, Elliana Otsu, Jade Keefer, and Michaela Cleaves. Finally, a huge shout-out to Kendra Duvall-Herman who ran 26:07 and has dropped almost 6 minutes off her time from her first 5k of the season! Congrats to many athletes ending their 2024 cross country seasons in great fashion. The season continues for many runners next week as Westfield will head to Noblesville for Sectionals on Saturday October 19th. Go Rocks!
