Varsity: The boys cross country team competed in the most prestigious regular season meet in the Midwestern United States (consisting not only of Indiana teams, but from teams as far away as California as well), and finished 25th of 45 teams. The boys were led by Ty Conner, and then had an impossibly close 2-5 spread with Luke Moulder, Owen Mohler, Will Snedeker, and Owen Dilley all finishing within one second of each other. All four in that group finished consecutively, even though they were in a field of 429 people. Dilley and JP Mikels both earned PRs on the tough course. The boys have two meets this week, both JV meets (one on Monday at Noblesville and one on Saturday at Brownsburg), and then the postseason begins with the Sectional meet at Noblesville on October 19th. JV: At the prestigious Nike Twilight meet, the JV teams were split in two and competed in different races: the open race and the JV race. In the JV race, the first event of the evening, the boys were led by the freshman duo of Tyler O'Rourke and Luke Stevens, who finished 11th and 13th respectively in their race. The other scorers for the boys included Dom Newell, Parker Johnson, and Malakai Peaden Kuhn. PRs were earned by O'Rourke and Newell on a tough course. In the open race, the next event of the evening, the boys were led by Caleb Haney and Bryce Pittman, both returning from injury and finishing in the top 90 in the field of nearly 350 athletes. Other scorers included Landon Jones, Dexter Hoffman, and Deagan Imel. The boys are back in action twice this week with two JV meets -- Monday night at Noblesville and Saturday morning in Brownsburg -- and the postseason begins on October 19th with the Sectional at Noblesville.
