Varsity Volleyball Goes 2-0 at Yorktown 4 Way

The varsity volleyball team went 2-0 at the Yorktown Four-Way on Saturday, defeating Noblesville and Fort Wayne Carroll. In the first match, Westfield overcame a slow start to top Noblesville for the second time this season, 26-28, 25-15, 25-14, 25-18. Carsyn Comer and Paige Rudolph each had 11 kills to lead the offense, followed by Audrey Bassett with 9 and Audrey Davis with 8. Emily Blevins delivered 5 aces from the service line to help the offense, followed by Bassett with 3. Defensively, Comer had 5 blocks, and anything that got past her was picked up by the defense, led by Kendyl Strack with 19 digs, Blevins with 14 digs, and Izzy Jackson with 13. Jackson and Blevins finished the match with 25 and 21 assists, respectively. In the second match, the Rocks delivered Carroll only their third loss of the season, 25-16, 25-22, 15-25, 25-22. Bassett led the offense this time around with 14 kills, followed by Comer and Rudolph each with 9. Blevins delivered another 5 aces to keep the Rocks on top. Comer added 3 blocks, and Strack ran the backcourt with 18 digs, followed by Jackson with 10. Jackson also ended the match with 26 assists, followed by Blevins with 17. The Rocks will host North Central on Monday for senior night.
