Westfield cross country competed over the weekend in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Championships at Noblesville. After many days of wind and rain, the course at White River Elementary held up well and was ready to host the best cross country conference in the state. The Rocks started off the day by placing 5th as a team in the varsity race. Liv Lozier once again found herself right at the front of the race as she ran to a runner-up finish in a time of 18:23 to place All-Conference. Mackenna Condon was the other Shamrock to place in the top 20 as she placed 18th in a time of 19:42. Remaining scorers for the Rocks in the varsity race included Sam Foster, Gianna Ferreri, and Ella Bozarth. Just like many of the meets this year, once again the junior varsity race came up all Westfield! The Rocks came away as team champions of the JV race winning with 36 points ahead of runner-up Zionsville's 49 points. Freshmen Vivienne Lyon led the way for the Rocks with a runner-up finish racing to a huge NEW PR of 21:03. Westfield had an excellent second half of the race and ended up placing 6 runners into the top 20 overall. Other top 20 finishers for the Rocks included Izzy McCulloch (6th), Maryn Babb (7th), Lyla Osborn (8th), Eliana Colon (13th), and Claudia Southworth (17th). Congratulations to the JV team winning their 2nd JV race in the last 3 meets! Westfield will compete next at the Nike Twilight Meet in Terre Haute under the lights on October 5th. Go Rocks!
