Varsity: The Rocks improved to 15-6 with a victory over Brownsburg on Thursday night. Audrey Bassett and Carsyn Comer were the offensive leaders with 10 and 9 kills, respectively, followed closely by Audrey Davis with 8. Comer was also a beast from the service line with 4 aces. Kendyl Strack led the defensive effort with 26 digs, followed by Bassett and Izzy Jackson with 12 digs apiece. Comer and Jackson also added 5 blocks each. Jackson also finished the match with 23 assists, followed closely by Emily Blevins with 22. The Rocks travel back to Yorktown on Saturday to take on Noblesville and Fort Wayne Carroll. JV: Your JV girls volleyball squad ran their record to 13-2 on the season with a big conference win Thursday night over Brownsburg. The Rocks took a little while to wake up at the start of the match getting down 11-4 in the first set but closed on a 21-8 run to win the first set 25-19 and then finished off the second set at 25-18. Aggressive serving turned the match around with the team recording a season high 12 aces, with Kailey Sweet notching a team high 4 of them to go along with her 3 kills and 4 digs. The offense was led by the strong return to 6 rotation setting of Kenna Robinson who finished with 21 assists. Laynie Holman posted impressive team high offensive stats of a .526 hitting efficiency to go with her 11 kills and 8 digs.
