Varsity and JV Volleyball Split with Millers

The varsity volleyball team improved to 11-3 with a reverse sweep of the Noblesville Millers on Thursday night. Paige Rudolph led the offense with 15 kills, while Carsyn Comer added 10 and Audrey Davis and Audrey Bassett added 8 apiece. Kendyl Strack led the defense with 22 digs, followed by Bassett with 21 and Izzy Jackson with 20. Jackson also finished the match with 24 assists, while Emily Blevins finished with 25. The Rocks will play Cathedral and Mt. Vernon at the HSE Showcase on Saturday. Your Westfield JV girls volleyball team suffered their first defeat of the season Thursday night in a close match in 3 sets (25-18, 19-25 & 13-15). In her first start at setter this season, sophomore Kailey Sweet did a great job distributing the ball with 20 assists to go along with a service ace, 2 digs and 2 kills. Fellow sophomore Maddalie Belleville had an excellent game off the bench and helped stabilize the team and help mount a comeback that fell just short. Laynie Holman led the Rocks with 16 digs and just one passing error.
