JV Football Defeats Eagles, 28-12

The Westfield Shamrock JV football team returned to action for the first time in two weeks and defeated the Zionsville Eagles by a score of 28-12. The Rocks got the scoring started on the second play of the game with Aiden Grabowski launched a 60 yard touchdown pass to Baylor Conner. The offense kept the scoring ways going with TDs from Cole Chellevold, Nick Fero, and Grabowski. Solid play came from the Offensive Line with Gabe Willis leading the way as Mr. Consistency. Grabowski’s play throughout the game earned him player of the game on the offense. Defensively, the Rocks played stout throughout the morning, holding the Eagles to only 2 touchdowns on the day. The play of the game was a Caleb Terrill INT in the endzone to shut down a scoring chance for the Eagles. Chase Crabtree led the way with consistent play on the defensive line and a great all around game came from Grant Kooi to earn himself player of the game. Special teams also came to play and provided some exciting plays. Caleb Terrill blocked a punt for the play of the game which sparked the Rock O. Diego Herrera was the player of the game for the special teams unit with going 4/4 on PATs and solid kicks on kickoff. Consistent play was given from Nick Fero and Maddox Novotney to help the Rocks control the special teams game. The JV Shamrocks will return to action Saturday, September 14th when they host the Noblesville Millers for a 10 AM kick.
