The Westfield Junior Varsity football team battled the Fishers Tigers and earned a 28-26 victory to improve to 6 and 2 on the year. The defense played well but a few breakdowns allowed the Tigers to keep it close. The defense was led by player of the game Matthew Spencer who anchored the defense all day. Owen Swinford was the definition of consistency and played all over the field. The play of the game came when Sam Bola stripped sacked the Fishers QB and Liam Butler recovered the ball. Offense was led by the consistent play of Will Irwin at receiver and the running of RB Zach Lunsford. Jacob Braun was at his best all game, earning Offensive Player of the Game. The play of the day on offense came on a great throw and catch from Jackson Gilbert to Zeke Richardson for a TD! Special Teams was led by Beau Braun and the consistent play of Landon Porter. Special Teams sealed the victory when Will Irwin recovered the onside kick. The JV Rocks football team will be in action again next Saturday, October 15th @ Franklin Central.
