The boys cross country team competed in the strongest County meet in the state of Indiana, finishing 5th place, behind four teams ranked in the top 8 in the state. Leading the Shamrocks was Will Snedeker, whose massive PR of 15:56 earned him 7th place overall. Snedeker joined the sub 16:00 club for the first time in his career, running the 13th fastest time in team history. He is just the 15th Westfield runner ever to break 16:00. Joining Snedeker in earning All-County honors were Ty Conner and Owen Mohler, both running huge PRs of 16:26, and finishing 18th and 19th places respectively. Owen Dilley and Bryce Pittman rounded out the scorers. 9 out of 12 varsity runners earned PRs, including all top 5 finishers -- Luke Moulder, Carson Ackley, Maxim Poirier, and Graham Hoffman rounded out the list of PRs in the varsity race. In the JV race, the Shamrocks finished 5th place as well. Over half of the JV runners PR'd, and every single one at least earned a season best. Chase Niccum led the way with his 25th place finish, followed by Jace Lee, Taye Gutwein, Parker Johnson, and Corwyn Barrows. The Shamrocks are back in action at the Harrison Invitational next Saturday. Boys varsity races at 9:40, while boys JV goes at 11:00.
